Located in eastern Nevada along U.S. Route 93, Ely is set just an hour and a half west from the Utah border. For small town charm, look no further than Ely - home to the Nevada Northern Railway Museum. Visitors should also be sure to explore Great Basin National Park. Once there, don't miss the Great Basin Bristlecone Pine trees - and excellent views of Mt. Wheeler. Thrill seekers will get a charge out of racing at the Great Basin Speedway.

Be sure to hike the trails of Cave Lake State Park and the Ward Mountain Recreation Area at Murray Summit, then take the kids and head to Comins Lake in White Pine County. Fishing's open year round, but there is a five trout daily maximum - so be sure to toss the small one's back.
